BILL MEDLEY OF THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS

Where: The Foundation Performing Arts Center in Spindale, NC
*This event takes place in Spindale, about a 30 minute drive from the town of Lake Lure, where the rest of the festival's activities will take place.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bill Medley is a seminal figure in the history of American music. He is perhaps best known as half of the unmistakable duo, The Righteous Brothers, whose raw emotion rhythm and blues sound created the genre "blue-eyed soul." In the mid-1960's The Righteous Brothers became a fixture on Top Forty Radio with hits like You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin, Just Once in My Life, Rock and Roll Heaven, Unchained Melody, and (You're My) Soul and Inspiration, creating an ultra-dramatic take on Sixties pop romance.
In 1987, Bill Medley scored a monumental hit along with Jennifer Warnes (I've Had) The Time of My Life for the film "Dirty Dancing." The song earned an Oscar, a Golden Globe, Video of The Year, and a Grammy. In 1990, The Righteous Brothers classic version of Unchained Melody appeared in the hit film "Ghost" and ran all the way up the billboard charts, introducing yet another new generation to the works of the The Righteous Brothers.

LAKESIDE SCREENING AT FIREFLY COVE

Bring a picnic dinner, some blankets and chairs and cuddle up to watch Dirty Dancing alongside the famous Lake Lure! This event was a blast last year and we can't wait to do it again! There will also be food and beverages for sale onsite.
Come around 5:00pm to park and find a spot for the movie which will start around 7:00pm.
DAYTIME DANCE FESTIVAL
SATURDAY SEPT. 17TH 2011 / 10:00AM-4:00PM

The Daytime Dance Festival will include a main stage with live entertainment, including performances by the Asheville Ballet, Clay Brown Band, The Embers, and Trudie Harris! Dance Lessons Tent with dance lessons all day. The National Watermelon Association will be onsite running a seed-spit competition and there will be a lake lift competition in the afternoon! There will also be food and craft vendors alongside a beer and wine garden!

LAKESIDE CONCERT AND VIP DINNER

Where: Rumbling Bald Resort Lawn
The concert will feature The Clovers and Billy Scott and the Party Prophets with a special performance by the Asheville Ballet!
Ticket Options: General admission tickets will be available for the lawn, and VIP Experience tickets will also be sold which include a pre-concert dinner and access all night to the stage-side VIP lounge!
CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT & BRUNCH / SILENT AUCTION
SUNDAY, SEPT. 18TH 2011 / 8:00AM-1:30PM
Where: Rumbling Bald Resort Golf Course (as featured in the movie Dirty Dancing!)
This tournament will benefit local charities and will be followed by a brunch, awards ceremony, and silent auction. Tickets are available for tournament entry which includes the brunch, and ticket for the brunch portion only are also available.
18 holes, tee off at 8:00am, brunch/awards/silent auction to follow
